He was in actual fact a draftsman of finely detailed landscapes, but in the 1940s Marcel Bascoulard began photographing himself in women’s clothes. Pamela Rosenkranz
27 | 03 – 04 | 07 | 2021
Pamela Rosenkranz addresses the biological and chemical foundations of objects and commodities. She works with scents, earth and light, bacteria and parasites. Rosenkranz formulates her artistic research as indelible but tranquil zones. These are spatially extensive, yet intimate experiences that are ideally suited to Kunsthaus Bregenz. The exhibition at KUB is Pamela Rosenkranz’s first solo exhibition in Austria.

Lois Weinberger
17 | 04 – 04 | 07 | 2021
A new acquisition by Lois Weinberger is being presented as an addendum to the main exhibition Pamela Rosenkranz in the basement at KUB: In 1971 a large Swiss pharmaceutical concern published the portfolio Unkrautgemeinschaften Europas that that advertised the chemical eradicants produced by the company. Lois Weinberger exhibited the portfolio as a readymade. In view of calls for “ecological art” and public expectations of the pharmaceutical industry, Weinberger’s work remains highly topical.

Anri Sala
17 | 07 – 10 | 10 | 2021
Anri Sala is involved in the interplay between sound and moving image, between hearing and seeing. Several works from recent years are being shown in Bregenz, including If and only If (2018), a filmed elegy by Igor Stravinsky, depicting a violist with a snail crawling along his bow. Kunsthaus Bregenz with its auratic presence and special acoustics offers the perfect space for Anri Sala’s art.

Otobong Nkanga addresses the complex and shifting relationship between humans, land, and corresponding structures of repair. By weaving together various mediums such as installation, tapestry, and storytelling, Nkanga’s work spans the temporality and subterranean effects of regimes acting on living beings.
